Book Love

9 More Books Available for Pre-Order That I Am Anxiously Waiting For!

A few months back, I shared a few books that I was excited about pre-ordering, so I thought I would take a moment to share my updated pre-order book list for the rest of 2019!

Boss Up!: This Ain’t Your Mama’s Business Book by Lindsay Teague Moreno

I already have this one pre-ordered! I just recently found Lindsay online, but I was drawn in by her colorful branding and mompreneur tips! She seems to have a “tough-love” or “real talk” approach to serving business advice for mommas. I did purchase her first book “Getting Noticed” so I hope to dive into that one soon, as I wait for the Boss Up! book to release.

From author, podcaster, and business owner Lindsay Teague Moreno, Boss Up! Is a plan for moms and women to live the lives they’ve dreamed of and learn how to start and succeed in their own businesses.

This book releases August 6, 2019. You can pre-order your copy here.

How to Have Your Life Not Suck: Becoming Today Who You Want To Be Tomorrow by Bianca Olthoff

I have been a fan of Bianca Juarez Olthoff since I read her first book “Play With Fire” (which I do highly recommend!). I just love how she mixes her own personal humor with Biblical teaching!

For the modern woman looking to create a successful life, ‘How to Have Your Life Not Suck’ is the perfect cocktail of sass and down-to-earth guidance. With her signature wit, engaging stories, and brilliant insights from a counselor friend, Bianca Juarez Olthoff gives spot-on advice for adulting, career, relationships, and faith.

This book releases August 27, 2019. You can pre-order your copy here.

Risen Motherhood by Emily Jensen & Laura Wifler

This one got added to my “must buy” list immediately when I saw that it was in the works! If you are looking for a good podcast to listen to I highly suggest listening to the Risen Motherhood podcast!

In a world of bullet-point solutions and 5-step lists for becoming the perfect mother, your choices as a mom can be confusing and complicated as they sometimes collide with the culture’s ideas. In Risen Motherhood, Emily Jensen and Laura Wifler help you discover how the gospel connects with your everyday life and apply it to the common issues you face.

You Are the Girl for the Job: Daring to Believe the God Who Calls You by Jess Connolly

You believe (or want to believe) God has called you and given you purpose, but where do you start? How do you get from feeling stuck to making a move? If this sounds familiar, bestselling author Jess Connolly has a message for you: You Are the Girl for the Job. But this is not simply a peppy catchphrase. This is the straight-up truth God has proclaimed over your life from the beginning, and it’s not dependent on what you can do or achieve but based on His power, capacity, and character.

It has taken one million, maybe one zillion (who knows?!), slight moves of His hand to place you in this exact moment. So forget about fear and second-guessing your gifts, because God has meticulously prepared you to be an ambassador for the Kingdom right where you are, here and now. Life is too short to get stuck in a holding pattern of shame, self-doubt, and comparison. So let this book be your very good news: you don’t have to wait for permission when you’ve already been commissioned.

To Hell with the Hustle: Reclaiming Your Life in an Overworked, Overspent and Overconnected World by Jeff Bethke

I have been following Jeff Bethke and his wife for a while now, so I am always excited to see what new things they have going on! Based on the description (or even just the subtitle lol), if this Fall starts off anything like last Fall did, I will be anxiously waiting for this book by October!

Modern life demands we pursue more possessions, activities, and accomplishments, while it increases our exhaustion, anxiety, and depression! Bethke urges you to resist our culture and embrace the slowness of Jesus by setting up boundaries and cultivating disciplines—including silence, obscurity, solitude, and vulnerability—that will provide the depth, meaning, and order that you are truly looking for.

When Less Becomes More: Making Space for Slow, Simple, and Good by Emily Ley

I’m a long time Emily Ley fan – so this one got added to my list immediately! I own and highly recommend both of her previous books, and this one sounds just as good.

Statistics don’t lie. People today are more fatigued, burned out, and overwhelmed than ever. Smartphones constantly ping and alert and demand our attention. And social media can eat up hours of our days with mindless scrolling and tapping while leaving many feeling empty and lonely. Add to that family commitments, work that is accessible around the clock, and overscheduling, and you have a life that can feel unmanageable and frantic . . . even running on empty.

In this book, Emily Ley takes readers on a journey out of that empty place and shows them how to fill their wells with the nourishment that only true connection can provide. She also presents some radical concepts that push against the tethers of modern life, with the promise that more of the good stuff comes when we say yes to less of what keeps us empty.

The Enneagram Collection Type __ by Beth McCord

I am very excited about this one! I have read two different Enneagram books so far this year, and this one looks even more helpful since it is more of a workbook type book with interactive prompts and space for notes. Right up my alley!

The Enneagram Collection, is for anyone who loves the Enneagram and wants to go deeper with this interactive book exploring the unique motivations, longings, and strengths and weaknesses of a their Type.

In addition to deeply informative content from Enneagram expert Beth McCord, the pages include interactive prompts and space provided for reflection and notes. Each book teaches about the strengths, challenges, and opportunities for that personality type in order to lead to a more meaningful life, lasting relationships, and a deeper understanding of God and yourself.
