It is 11:52 pm and I am in the middle of work and don’t plan on getting to bed for a few hours. Being a business owner and a mom kinda throws the whole 9 to 5 thing out the window most days. (Meaning, I pretty much have to work when I can – that means when the kids are in bed.) I have four kiddos 7 years old and under, and being on demand at home so much means that it is hard for me to not work when I get some quiet time because I feel like I need to make the most of my time. But it is in the middle of this late night grind of trying to meet multiple deadlines and check as much off my to do list as I possibly can, that I am just so thankful for the Lords provision this summer!
I don’t have the official numbers to prove it (and if Leroy reads this I know he will try and find some if he can), but I am 100% positive this is the most successful summer we have had since we opened our photography and graphic design studio in 2011. In previous years, being on the verge of summer would give me anxiety. Summer in Louisiana is HOT and HUMID and UGH. Seriously, we can’t walk outside without sweating 95% of the time. This makes for pretty miserable photo shoot conditions unless we are very strategic with the times we shoot, and even then it can stay hot until sundown.
In 8 years, we are still figuring out how to make the whole varied income thing work. But ya’ll, I seriously can’t even tell you how in that struggle, and in that fear, God has taught us some of the biggest lessons. We have to trust Him to provide for us every month, and He does! Going through such a successful summer has me in complete awe of the Lord’s provision and love. It has also been such a blessing and comfort, since we are in the process of moving out of our downtown office and into our temporary office. We are super excited about this change, but it is a process – and right now it is a process that means my house is FULL TO THE BRIM with way more stuff than usual. Add toddlers to piles and piles of extra stuff and you get one overwhelmed momma.
I am just so excited for this new chapter of our journey. We see God doing so much for us, this business, and the people we have the joy of working with each day. We say it all the time, but we really mean it – He gets all the credit! The Lord’s provision is what makes this thing work.
